One of the most powerful features of the Headjack CMS is that you can update an app without rebuilding or reinstalling it. Update your content in the Headjack CMS, hit “save” and restart your app. It’s that simple.
The following changes can be pushed dynamically with every app restart: project title, project description, video, video thumbnail, video categories, app template (when using Headjack Link), App backgrounds, and Template variables.
How to Update or Change a Project
There are two main methods for updating project details like titles, descriptions, videos, etc. If this project is already published in an app, changes will take effect immediately.
Method 1: Change project details on the App page
- Navigate to Apps > All Apps > “app name”
- Click on the project you would like to edit or add a new one
- Edit Titles, Description, etc. and click “Save”
- Restart your app and check the result

Method 2: Change product details on the app project page
- Navigate to Content > Projects > “project name” or add a new one
- Edit Titles, Description, etc. and click “Save”
- Restart your app and check the result

How to Make Changes to or Update an App
Also, an app update can be done without having to perform a traditional app update.
- Navigate to Apps > All Apps > “app name”
- Change the App Template or Add / Remove or Rearrange a project from the project list
- Click “Save”
- Restart your app and check the result
How to Publish or Unpublish a Project
Our Publishing tools are convenient if you would like to prepare your app in advance, but you want to make your projects available later, for example.
- Navigate to Apps > All Apps > “app name”
- toggle the publishing icon of your desired project
- Click “Publish/Unpublish“
- Click “Save”
- Restart your app and check the result

How to Lock Projects

There are several ways of locking a project entirely to prevent it from being edited by another team member or when it can not change when the project is live.
- Navigate to Apps > All Apps > “app name”
- Click on the project you would like to lock
- Toggle the Lock icon on the top pop-up window
- Click “Save”
or
- Navigate to Content > Projects > “project name”
- Toggle the Lock icon on the right in the collum of the project you would like to lock
or
- Navigate to Content > Projects > “project name”
- Click on the project you would like to lock
- Toggle the Lock icon on the top of the page
- Click “Save”
Change the App Title or App Icon
Unfortunately, two app items require a complete app rebuild to take effect since they are built directly in the app executable. The App Icon and the App Title can only be updated with a complete rebuild and install of the app.
