Channel 4

Challenge
Channel 4 is one of the UK’s largest TV broadcasters, and they are embracing VR by creating 360º video episodes for several of their hit shows. Channel 4 needed a branded channel through which they could distribute their content to all VR headsets.
Solution
Over the course of a year, we worked closely with Channel 4 and their content partners to develop a custom application to house their content library. It had to be able to host shows with episodes, display sponsor banners, and run across devices. Channel 4 also wanted to be able to easily add new content to their app and view usage analytics.
Implementation
We built a custom app for Channel 4, and distributed it to the Oculus Rift, Oculus Go, Gear VR, HTC Vive, Google Daydream, and Google Cardboard (iOS and Android). For Cardboard we created a flat UI, while we developed a VR-only UI for the other platforms. Channel 4 uses the Headjack CMS to easily manage and update their app content, as well as to view detailed analytics.
